Murray Ferguson – Officer

MurrayMurray and his family became involved with the Children of Chernobyl as a host family in 1994.  His first visit to Belarus was to attend an International Conference marking the 10th Anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe.  His family hosted annually until 2001.  Murray has been involved in many aspects of Canadian Aid for Chernobyl including Children’s Program Director for six years, a director at large and now an appointed Officer.  Since 1999, Murray has overseen the coordination of the CAC warehouse in Brockville and has made more than 20 return visits to the contaminated regions of Belarus assisting and overseeing the delivery of humanitarian aid and has dedicated more than 18 years of volunteer service and devotion to help the victims of the Chernobyl disaster.  Both of Murray’s children, Marla and Cole, have made multiple trips to Belarus to help facilitate some of CAC’s ambitious initiatives.
